HTB Trading Limited, trading as DOPA! Hong Kong (“HTB”, “we”, “us”), is an independent company operating in Hong Kong under a licence from DOPA!, and is a separate company from the company that operates DOPA! in Japan. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it and your rights under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

2. Is providing your data required?

Your account, application and identity verification data are required for us to buy cards from you. If you do not provide them, we cannot complete the sale. Consent to marketing is optional.

3. How we use your data

  1. To verify your identity and create your account.
  2. To appraise, buy and pay for your cards.
  3. For accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute purposes.
  4. To send you transactional notifications (verification codes, appraisal results, approval links and payment notices) by WhatsApp, SMS or email.
  5. To respond to your questions and requests.
  6. To prevent the sale of stolen or counterfeit goods and to comply with legal obligations.
  7. For direct marketing, only if you have consented (see section 6).

4. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only as needed to provide our service. We do not sell personal data.

  1. Banks and payment systems, to pay you.
  2. Messaging and email service providers used to deliver WhatsApp, SMS and email messages (including Meta Platforms for WhatsApp).
  3. Hosting and infrastructure providers.
  4. Google, which provides the website analytics described in section 9.
  5. Our group company in Japan, which operates and maintains our systems. Your data may therefore be transferred outside Hong Kong.
  6. Public authorities where required by law. We may also disclose data to the police for the prevention or detection of crime.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep transaction records and identity verification details for 3 years from your last transaction. Records required for accounting or legal purposes may be kept longer. Account data is kept while your account is active.

6. Direct marketing

  1. Only with your consent, we send you information about our products and services (such as new arrivals, buy campaigns and events) by WhatsApp, SMS or email.
  2. We use your name, phone number and email address for this purpose.
  3. Consent is optional and separate from your acceptance of our terms. You can create an account without giving it.
  4. You can withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, in My page (“News & offers”) or by contacting us. Every marketing message tells you how to opt out.
  5. If you opt out, you will still receive transactional messages (section 3, item 4).

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

8. Your rights

Under the Ordinance you may request access to, or correction of, your personal data. You may also ask us to delete your account and data, except records we must keep for legal or accounting purposes (see our data deletion instructions). We respond within 40 days as required by law.

9. Cookies

This site uses the cookies needed to keep you logged in, remember your language and keep the site secure.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and how visitors found us. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type and your approximate location. We do not send it your name, phone number or the details you enter in forms.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or stop Google Analytics with Google's opt-out tool: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We do not use advertising cookies. The Google Map embedded on our site may set Google's own cookies, which are governed by Google's privacy policy.

We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.
